This is a good reference for the 60's 2D style that I like.
Fiep Westendorp (NL) is especially famous for her illustrations on the writings of Annie M.G. Schmidt, the beloved Dutch children's book writer. Together, they created stories and images that will live on in the minds of children - and their parents. One of the most memorable text-comics they did together is 'Tante Patent', which appeared in several newspapers during the 1950s.
Fiep Westendorp died, after a short illness, on 3 February 2004, at the age of 87.
The end credits of Pixar's"Ratatouille" is exactely what I would like to use in the series. A midway between 2d and 3D.
Plot:
Monsieur Hulot visits the technology-driven world of his sister, brother-in-law, and nephew, but he can't quite fit into the surroundings.
Thomas firmly believes his life to have been "stolen" from him by Alfred Kant, born at the same time as Thomas, who Thomas believes was inadvertently switched with himself as a baby (characteristically, the film remains ambiguous as to whether this substitution ever actually happened, with Thomas' only substantiation being his apparent vivid memory of the day he was born). Thomas' jealousy of Alfred has overshadowed all his life, often with tragic consequences for his loved ones, and he is plotting revenge. Throughout most of the film, his intended revenge takes the shape of a plot to kill Alfred, but in the end Thomas finds a more creative and surprising way to "take back" his life.
An old part of Brussels called "La roue" (1907) was built for the poor homeless people which lost them house during the first war and also because of a big renovation in the center of Brussels. Those little houses are all the same and have a little garden which is communicating with the others. A nice and green village inside the big city.
One of my biggest reference. This film is one of my favorite also because of his humanity and poetry. If I can reach this quality of feelings in the project I will be the happiest person in the world... I go back to work now!
My Neighbor Totoro (となりのトトロ, Tonari no Totoro?), is a 1988 animated film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli.
Heidi after becomming an orphan is forced to live with her grandfather Öhi who lives in the mountain Alps. However he is a very bitter man who only accepts to take her in by force. Heidi's kindness may be able to open Öhi's heart. Along with Peter the goat carer and the crippled Klara, Heidi has a lot of adventures.
A Tv series of 56 episodes (26 minutes) full of freshness and tenderness.
